Charcoal drawing workshops at Coates English Willow, Somerset
Together with Coates English Willow, I am delighted to be able to offer a unique package which combines a charcoal drawing workshop with a tour of charcoal production at the farm where the Coates family have been growing willow since 1819. Where better to master charcoal drawing than at the place where the world's finest drawing charcoal is made?!
In small group sizes of no more than 8, the workshop will involve a mixture of explanation, demonstration and practical participation.
We will cover:
Willow charcoal and how it is made.
The tools, materials and products associated with charcoal drawing.
Preliminary considerations and preparations before drawing.
Techniques of charcoal drawing.
How to finish a drawing and preserve it for the future.
