Pod (work in progress)

The pod project is a collaboration with designer / maker Barnaby Dearsly of Weathered by Water and Brian Pogson of Exeter Maritime Services.
Brian was contracted to de-commission the vessel in 2012 but recognised the potential to re-purpose elements of the vessel including this section which was in excellent condition despite nearly 70 years at sea. Barney and I agreed to develop the incomplete project and we have now completed the first phase to make the exterior completely weatherproof with a tough epoxy shell that also provides structural stability whilst allowing the detail of the underlying wooden construction to show through. The number on the hull is the original Penzance fishing registration number,

The section is now being re-worked into a unique garden retreat and we are currently engineering a circular aluminium doorway before laying a new hardwood floor and fitting a  wood burner that was designed and hand built by ship builders Giles --- and Steve ---.

The pod is for sale and the design could be adapted to the buyer's individual requirements. POA
