Biography
Richard Rochester is a visual artist based in Exeter in the South West of England. He studied fine art at Exeter College of Art and Design and graduated in 1991.
Richard grew up in the fishing village of Lympstone in Devon and initially trained as a jeweller before deciding to broaden his creative interests and study Fine Art.
Seeking adventure Richard embarked on a military career immediately on completion of his degree and completed 18 years of service initially as an Infantry officer and later in the Royal Marines. During this time he travelled widely and he served operationally in Bosnia Herzegovina, Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan. In 2012 he left the Royal Marines and briefly ran a veterans' charity before turning his full attention to development of his creative interests.
